If your organisation relies on recruiting care workers from overseas, please take note: the Home Office has introduced major reforms to the Skilled Worker and Health & Care Worker visa system which took effect on 22nd July 2025.
What’s changed:Â
-
From July 2025, care providers will no longer be able to sponsor new overseas care workers under SOC codes 6135/6136.
-
New visa salary thresholds mean many lower-band care roles are now ineligible for sponsorship.
-
Stricter compliance checks, including revoking sponsor licenses and tightening audits.Â
-
Employers must now show they’ve tried to recruit in the UK before applying to sponsor from overseas.
Â
Why Partnering with a Recruitment Specialist Now Makes Sense
Given the tightening landscape, from new thresholds and lists to heightened audits, working with a trusted recruitment partner who sources UK-based, right-to-work candidates (already present and compliant) remains the most reliable, low-risk path forward.
They can:
-
Help mitigate visa-related delays or refusals.
-
Reduce exposure to enforcement action.
-
Enable faster recruitment turnaround with candidates ready to work.
How we help:
-
We supply fully compliant care staff, from HCAs and support workers to RGNs and Registered and Deputy Managers, across a number of settings including Dom Care, Nursing Homes and Supported Living / LD.

We can handle all vetting and referencing– ready-to-go, safe, and CQC-compliant.
